GERMANFEST                                                            APRIL 22, 23, & 24 2022

Muenster, Texas will host its Annual Germanfest, sponsored by the Muenster Chamber of Commerce, on April 22, 23 & 24, 2022.  Over 20,000 attend the fest, and will enjoy German sausage, sauerkraut, schnitzel, potato salad, scrumptious apple strudel, hearty cheese and breads.  One will also find a wide variety of American food, in this quaint German community of 1,700. 

For those who love to participate in competitive sports, you might try one or more of these: Axe throwing, “Nagelschlagen,” a traditional German competition, for the Bicyclist there is a Bicycle Rally on Saturday, April 23rd.  Runners will find a 5k on Sunday, April 24th

Germanfest Barbecue Cook-off will return, as a sanctioned event under the “Lone Star Barbecue Association,” and being sponsored by the Muenster Chamber of Commerce. The winner of this event will be qualified to participate in the World Food Competitions in Las Vegas and the KC Masterpiece BBQ competition in Kansas City, MO. If you prefer spending your weekend just relaxing and having fun, then the Germanfest is the place to be, because there will be several stages where you will find performers like,  _________________during our Flashback Friday series, Saturday will will have live entertainment that you will enjoy and Sunday is our "fun' Day", with music for the whole family to enjoy.  In the German “Tanze Halle” stage will entertain you great German bands like “Alpenmusikanten”, and “Valina Polka & Das Ist Lustig”, Ennis Czech Boys- a must see and experience! and the “Whitney High School German Dancers” and the STV Almrausch dancers out of Dallas and the Texanischer Schuhplattler Verein d'Holzar group.  “The Dallas Puppet Theatre", will join us again with many friends that will be performing at the Children’s Stage and around the Germanfest grounds. In the family area you will find lots of new things that your family will surely enjoy. David G. Wonders will be on hand with balloon sculptures, also face painters, jump house, and many more fun things for children.  Don’t forget the Kiwanis Carnival Rides and over 100 Arts & Crafts booths. There is something for everyone.

The admission is $10.00 per person on Friday, $15 per person on Saturday and $10.00 on Sunday.  Those age 12 and under are admitted free. Also anyone in complete German costume will be admitted free.  You will have a chance to purchase the Germanfest collector stein in advance, we usually run out, along with your Tickets which can be purchased online at muensterchamber.com or at the gate.  On site parking is $5 for cars and motorcycles.

Located on U.S. Highway 82, 14 miles West of I-35, about 70 miles north of the Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex, Muenster is waiting to welcome you to their community and entertain you at the Germanfest.

Opening and closing times are: Friday, 12:00p.m. to midnight, Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to midnight and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6p.m.
