Enjoy a hayride at the Castle Hills Fall Festival. The event is FREE!

The annual Castle Hills Fall Festival returns in October, with a scary haunted house, chili cook-off and progressive beer tasting. October also brings outdoor movie night and a community garage sale with all proceeds benefitting charitable organizations. Movie night and the annual Fall Festival are free; costs are minimal for the haunted house, chili cook-off and garage sale booth rental.  All events take place in the Castle Hills Village Shops Plaza, a one-acre-plus site featuring tree-shaded walkways, gardens and numerous water features, including the very popular interactive water fountain, a permanent stage and outdoor seating. The plaza is located at 2560 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake in the Castle Hills neighborhood. Everyone is welcome!

The Castle Hills Village Shops Plaza schedule of events for October includes:

October 3, Movie Night: “Muppets Most Wanted” (PG), 8 p.m.:  Spend an evening at the plaza watching “Muppets Most Wanted” on a gigantic 25-foot movie screen! Those crazy Muppets are on a world tour when they get pulled into a European jewel-heist caper run by a Kermit look-alike and his villainous sidekick. Enjoy free ice cream while it lasts and don’t forget to bring extra chairs and blankets.

October 4, Women’s Club of Castle Hills Garage Sale, 7-11 a.m.:  Back by popular demand, the Women’s Club of Castle Hills (WCCH) is hosting a community garage sale in the Village Shops parking lot. Booth rentals start at $25 (two space minimum).  All proceeds from booth rentals support the WCCH and charitable efforts. Email thewcch@yahoo.com for more information.

October 18, Fall Festival,  Kiwanis Haunted House, Progressive Beer-Tasting and Chili Cook-Off, 4-7 p.m.:  You won’t want to miss this year’s Fall Festival which will feature a six-pony carousel, a longhorn photo-op, face painters, carnival games, arts & crafts by The Enchanted Artist, cookie decorating by I Like Big Bundts, a pumpkin patch and much more!  Manny and the Gringoderos will provide live music, free candy apples while supplies last and two $100 Williams-Sonoma gift cards will be given away. The Women’s Club of Castle Hills will sell pumpkins with proceeds benefitting one of the club’s charitable efforts. The family-friendly Kiwanis Haunted House offers an experience for all ages for $5 each. The 4th Annual Progressive Beer Tasting (valid ID required) will begin at 5pm with participating merchants offering beer tasting and a chili.
