The Castle Hills Village Shops is transforming into “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” for one night only with George Strait tribute artist Derek Spence and his band performing for the 2019 Castle Hills Concert Series. The show takes place outside on the lawn at the Village Shops on Saturday, June 15. The concert is FREE and everyone is welcome! The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with family-oriented activities on the Plaza and the “King of Country” Derek Spence taking the stage from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. The Village Shops is located at 2560 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake Blvd. in the Castle Hills community.
Derek Spence has been described as the “real deal” and “absolutely phenomenal.” His one-of-a-kind show will re-create a George Strait concert from the ‘80s and ‘90s, with Spence mimicking the look, sound and mannerisms of the popular singer with performances of his greatest hits like “Amarillo by Morning,” “Ocean Front Property, “ I Cross my Heart,” and “The Chair.”
Fun activities for the younger ones include face painters, balloon artists, bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, a petting zoo, Tana Banana shows and a Western-themed photo booth! Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event including Freebirds, Smokin J’s BBQ and ice cold craft beer from local brewery TKO Libations, or come to the Village Shops early and enjoy pizza at P.I.E 3.14; burgers at The Grind Burger Bar; fresh sushi at Kanzi Sushi & Hibachi; delicious noodles at Ramen Noodle; Chinese food at Z’s Wok; or grab some snacks and sweets at The London Baker, Sophia’s Kitchen or The Salty Cow. The Castle Hills Spring Concerts always provide an unforgettable night of great music and memories! This year’s concerts are presented by Bright Realty, Grande Communications, Vector Security and the City of Lewisville.
