Claymore Operatons Humvee Challenge - Humvee Photo Can you pull the weight? Teams of eight will be pulling this authentic Humvee for time and distance at the Claymore Operations Humvee Challenge on May 8th

Claymore Operations, a local non-profit organization which prepares active duty US military to succeed in life after service to their country, invites the public to their annual Humvee Challenge on Saturday, May 8th from 10 am to 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church Coppell parking lot 420 S. Heartz Rd. This is a family-friendly event that pairs teams of eight to compete in the pulling of an authentic 7,000-pound military Humvee over a 70-meter course for time and prizes.  In addition to the pull, guests are invited to feast on Corny Dogs from the world-famous Fletcher's Original Corny Dogs, enjoy Hawaiian shaved ice from Kona Ice Shaved Ice Truck, participate in group exercise classes offered by the Coppell Family YMCA, a DJ, family games, and more.

“This will be a great opportunity to enjoy a unique event in our own backyard,” says Gayle Westapher, President of Claymore Operations, while helping raise awareness of the need to help our active duty military personnel find purpose and success in their career. “Through our hands-on mentorship program, Claymore Ops pairs one active duty service mentee with both a veteran mentor and a civilian mentor.  Although the military offers programs to ease the transition into civilian life, many military personnel are not prepared for the transition. Claymore Operations forms a bridge from military service to a new civilian career.”
