Rising Innovator, a website that provides resources for young entrepreneurs and their mentors, has announced that Amber Rhodes of Lewisville, Texas, is the winner of the website's $500 scholarship. Amber will use the scholarship at Lubbock Christian University, where she will be enrolling in the fall.

“We received more than 100 applicants for the scholarship from all over the country, so this is a great achievement for Amber,” said Rising Innovator President Marc Seldin. “Her accomplishments, together with her thoughtful essay, gave her the edge even in a very impressive field.”

Applicants were asked to give their thoughts and stories about entrepreneurship. Amber wrote about her past struggles and how they have shaped her future ambitions, as well as her experience with entrepreneurship dating back to the fourth grade.

Applicants’ essays and bios were ranked by a three-judge panel from Rising Innovator.

The first to be offered by Rising Innovator, this scholarship is a way for Rising Innovator to give back to the community, according to Seldin said. Rising Innovator's goal with this scholarship is to help a student with entrepreneurial aspirations, he said

The website will be re-opening the scholarship application for the 2022-2023 school year in the coming weeks.
