On August 8, 9 and 10, when families are able to take advantage of the tax-free pricing, Vista Ridge Mall and Christian Community Action (CCA) of Lewisville invite shoppers to donate to the nonprofit’s Apple Tree, a back-to-school program that provides qualifying area students with items needed for the beginning of the school year.

All donations are placed in the store at CCA where parents and children can shop for back-to-school outfits, shoes, backpacks and school supplies. Each qualifying student will receive two new outfits, a pair of shoes, a backpack and grade-specific school supplies prior to the beginning of each school year.

Representatives of CCA will be in Big Sky Cafe Food Court during Vista Ridge Mall’s extended hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. August 8 and 9; and 12 to 8 p.m. August 10.

For more than 40 years, Christian Community Action (www.ccahelps.org) has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in Southern Denton County and eight schools that include Argyle, Coppell, Frisco,  Lake Dallas, Little Elm, Northwest and the Denton County part of Carrollton/Farmers Branch. CCA resale stores are located at 2202 S Sh 121 in Lewisville; 3050 N Josey Lane in Carrollton; and 5000 Main St in The Colony. Vista Ridge Mall also supports the organization by hosting a Giving Tree during the holiday season.
