Cool off at the Castle Hills Freedom Festival with the giant water slide and the interactive water fountain. The event is FREE!

The annual Castle Hills July 4th Freedom Festival is all about fireworks, food trucks and family fun. This year’s event takes place July 4at 5 p.m. at the Castle Hills Village Shops and Plaza, a one-acre-plus plaza site with tree-shaded walkways, a permanent stage, shaded seating, gardens and numerous water features, including the very popular interactive water fountain. The plaza is located at 2560 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake in the Castle Hills neighborhood. The event is free and everyone is welcome!

The event begins at 5 p.m. with live music from Diva G and The High Maintenance Band, and free activities such as face painting, interactive games, bounce houses, Euro bungee, a giant water slide, mechanical bull, zip line, arts and crafts and more.  Several of DFW’s most popular food trucks, including Easy Slider, Kona Ice, Nammi truck, Oink-N-Moo BBQ, Ruthie’s Rolling Café, The Butcher’s Son and Taste of Cuba, will set up along Lake Avalon selling tasty treats.  Also at Lake Avalon are Castle Hills HOA-sponsored activities including a DJ, giant obstacle course, photo station, water station (while supplies last) and more. Guests can also sign up for a chance to win an iPad Mini at the tent located near the giant water slide.

A spectacular fireworks show, sponsored by Bright Realty, will light up the sky at approximately 9:30 p.m. Get there early to get the best seats. Feel free to bring chairs, blankets and coolers. And check out last year’s event here.

Early in the day, neighbors can participate in a July 4th parade that begins at 8:30 a.m. at Polser Elementary. Neighbors will be decorating bikes, golf carts and wagons for the parade that concludes at the Village Shops.

For the complete calendar of Castle Hills events and directions to the plaza, go here. In the event of inclement weather, events in the plaza will be cancelled.  Please check the website for updates or contact Divina Penaloza at Divina.Penaloza@Brightcomarketing.com or call at 972-410-6587.
