Johnny Lee & The Urban Cowboy Band are coming to Castle Hills!

Mark your calendars for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 to be a part of history in the making—that’s when Johnny Lee & The Urban Cowboy Band take the stage in Castle Hills at the Castle Hills Village Shops!

Part of Castle Hills’ Spring Concert Series, Johnny Lee & The Urban Cowboy Band are expected to perform the hit song “Lookin’ for Love,” which was the musical centerpiece of the ’80s classic movie “Urban Cowboy” and one of the Top 100 country songs of all time. A country mainstay, Lee had countless country hits on the Billboard charts: “One in a Million” (1980); “Bet Your Heart on Me” (1981); “The Yellow Rose” (1984—a duet with Lane Brody and the theme song to the NBC TV series of the same name); and “You Could Have Heard a Heart Break” (1984).

Johnny Lee & The Urban Cowboy Band perform 7:30 – 9 p.m. (make note of the new, cooler time!) with FREE family activities, such as fun interactive and carnival games, bounce houses and face-painting sponsored by Grande Communications from 6 – 9 p.m. Local food trucks will have concessions for purchase near the stage, which will be located on Lady of the Lake at the reflecting pond.

The Johnny Lee & The Urban Cowboy Band concert is FREE and is sponsored by Kroger Marketplace, which recently opened its newest store in Castle Hills Marketplace at 4620 State Highway 121 in Lewisville. The concert series also features a charitable component. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation for the CCA Food Pantry, which serves more than 500 local families every week.  Needed items include baking goods sugar, flour, cake mixes, etc.), canned meat and fish, hygiene products and paper goods. Feel good from the music and do a good deed!

The Quebe Sisters performed at the first concert in the series on May 2. Families there enjoyed their Texas-style fiddlin’ and vocals, as well as treats from the city’s most popular food trucks, fun kids’ activities and gorgeous weather as they spread out on the open lawn. You won’t want to miss this concert; everyone is welcome!
