October Brings Haunted Houses and Spooky Shows to Castle Hills

October brings back the annual Castle Hills Fall Festival with scary haunted houses, a spooky marionette show, hayrides, carnival games and progressive beer tasting. The marionette show and the annual Fall Festival are free; costs for the haunted house are $5 with proceeds benefitting local charities. All events take place in the Castle Hills Village Shops Plaza, a one-acre-plus site featuring tree-shaded walkways, gardens, and numerous water features, including the very popular interactive water fountain, a permanent stage and outdoor seating. The plaza is located at 2560 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake in the Castle Hills neighborhood. Everyone is welcome!

Friday, October 2, Marionette Show: “Spooky Strings,” 6pm: It’s Spooky Strings–Le Theatre’s delightfully entertaining variety show featuring a medley of Halloween characters performing amusing musical numbers as a Halloween talent show. See a mummy moonwalk to “Stayin’ Alive,” a charming werewolf serenade a lucky audience member to “Blue Moon” and a skeleton that just can’t seem to hold himself together! Don’t forget to bring extra chairs and blankets.

Saturday, October 17, Fall Festival, Kiwanis Haunted House and Progressive Beer-Tasting, 4-8pm: You won’t want to miss this year’s Fall Festival at the Plaza which will feature a six-pony carousel, a longhorn photo-op, face painters, carnival games, hay rides, a petting zoo, arts & crafts by The Enchanted Artist, cookie decorating by I Like Big Bundts, a pumpkin patch and live music by Rhythm & Beards Band. Two $100 Williams-Sonoma gift cards will be given away and free candy apples for the first 100 people. Food will also be available for purchase. Pumpkins will also be on sale in the pumpkin patch. Another annual tradition, the Kiwanis Haunted House, will open at 4 pm with a $5 donation. Also, the 5th Annual Progressive Beer Tasting (valid ID required) will begin at 6:00 pm with participating merchants offering free beer tasting.

Saturday, October 31, Krieger Orthodontics & Smile Design Haunted House, 7:30-10pm: Krieger Orthodontics will be converting its practice into a Halloween haunted house for all ages. Treats will be provided and a $5 admission will get you into the spooky attraction. All proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project with Dr. Krieger matching the proceeds raised up to $1,000.
